Dear Members:

Hope you all had a wonderful summer.  My best wishes to all students, as they enter the new college year and pursue their academic careers for a bright future.

For the upcoming events please note that our Garba is on October 3, 2009 and Diwali Dinner is on October 11, 2009. This year we are doing the Diwali Dinner with Gurjar and the main reason is due to lack of funding. It has become very difficult to attract enough people to break even at these functions. It makes sense for both our organizations and this way we all can be fiscally responsible; I hope I have your support in this endeavor.

The Patidar Samaj of New England is registered as a non-profit organization.  As required by the Constitution and By Laws, the current Executive Board would like to announce a formal Nomination and Election process for the new officers. 

As per Article III of the Constitution, the Constitution, I have appointed a Nomination Committee, consisting of our past presidents, Chair, Mr.Mahendra Patel, Jyotsna Patel (Andover, MA); Lekha Patel, (Hanover, MA), Mita Patel (Salem, MA) and Pravin Patel (Lowell).

To meet the overall schedule, Nomination papers are requested to be filed by October 9, 2009.  The interested Members should submit the enclosed Nomination Form to the Chairperson Mahendra Patel by October 9, 2009. As per the Article III, Nominations for the following positions are being solicited:

 President     Vice President   Treasurer             Secretary       Directors (4)

 The Nominating Committee, upon review of all qualified candidates, will select and present the slate of new Executive Board to the current Executive Board.  The current Executive Board will then approve the new slate of Executive Board.  The current Secretary will announce the new Executive Board via Samaj Newsletter for the Diwali Dinner Program, at least two weeks prior to the General Body meeting.  The General Body meeting will take place at the Diwali Dinner function, at which time the new Executive Board will be ratified by the Membership

In case of non-ratification, nominations from the floor will be permitted as outlined in Section 2.

We are looking forward to have a good cross section of the membership, young and adult and representing all geographical parts of our region for a dynamic and balanced leadership.  Additional appointments will be made by the new Board to fill several sub committee positions to get other interested volunteers involved. This is a unique opportunity to serve your Samaj and feel proud about it!
